The photography contest Lagazuoi Photo Award, conceived in 2020 to show the Dolomites through the eyes of professional photographers, in 2022 opened up to young people with the Lagazuoi Photo Award – New Talents, a new curatorial project of Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti.
Over five days, three students took part in the artist residency organised by Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, taking photos and videos to capture the essence of the Dolomites with the support of a team of tutors.
Three high schools have taken part in this project: the Accademia Carrara di Bergamo, the Istituto Italiano di Fotografia di Milano, and the Officine Fotografiche di Roma. Each of them selected a student to participate in an artist residency at high altitude.
And thanks to the partnership with Nikon Italia, the young people were accompanied by as many tutors, and three professional photographers from the #NikonCreators team: Mattia Bonavida, Samuele Cavicchi and Alberto Papagni.
A distinguished jury was entrusted with the evaluation of the works entered in the competition: besides Stefano Illing, creator of the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, Elisabetta Lattanzio Illy, photographer and journalist, CEO and founder of the Photo Agency Picture of Change, and Roberto Bachis, head of the Nikon School and training specialist.
The best project was awarded at an official ceremony be held on Saturday 2nd September during the opening of the exhibition.
The exhibition of the young talents' works at the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti was on display until 22nd October.
