Alessio Orlando

Alessio Orlando (Lecco, 2005) uses photography as raw material for digital manipulation, producing "post-photographs" — copies without an original. Initially struck by the sublime mountain and the dark WWI tunnels, he turned his images into procedural units for a digital collage practice, where fragments of mountains, tunnels and trenches recombine into impossible, liminal configurations. With a gaming-cyberpunk aesthetic and a touch of irony, his work questions the image in the age of AI, culminating in a collage centred on Lagazuoi's summit crucifix.
